Altran, the international specialist in embedded and critical systems engineering, has joined the GENIVI Infotainment Alliance as a Core Member. The Alliance was founded by leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers to foster the development and adoption of an open In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) reference platform.
As a core member Altran will share its extensive experience in infotainment architecture and development, automotive connectivity, telematics and Human Machine Interface (HMI) with the Alliance. This will lead to potentially faster vehicle integration and market introduction of GENIVI-based infotainment solutions
"Altran has joined the GENIVI Alliance to collaborate with other industry leaders in the development of a reliable, open in-vehicle infotainment platform," said Keith Williams, Group Executive Director of Intelligent Systems / Altran. "GENIVI’s collaborative development approach allows us to create unique and differentiated products and services that will facilitate reusability and productivity, thus reducing time to market and cost. The combination of our experience in innovation and embedded systems engineering is particularly relevant to drive the GENIVI Alliance forward."
IVI is a rapidly growing and evolving field that includes automotive infotainment products and services such as music, news, internet and multimedia, navigation and location and telephony. Altran will be able to access and enhance GENIVI’s open reference platform and hence broaden its options for integrating and customising IP solutions for automobile manufacturers worldwide.
